Hello Everyone,

Today is Sunday, and in the general spirit of Sunday's we had a lovely (semi) relaxing day. The morning started like any other, however I was really pushing to get out of bed due to being very tired and also feeling pretty ill. I went to Brekkie in my jim jams and went straight back up to bed. I got on the bus in time to travel to the build site which was a pretty good effort. The morning was pretty warm and I knew we were in for a sweaty day. To my liking, when we got to the build site we were advised that it would be an easier day than the others. I thanked John for this news and proceeded about my day. A few of us went on the usual water run which Sarah filmed for your future viewing!!
There was a bit of mixing cement, putting cement in cracks in walls, digging, making mud etc etc.
The highlight of the day for all of us started when we arrived at lunch. Everyone was over dal and rice so we ate chow min - it was better than the previous lunches. Lunch was finished off by a game of carambot that was completely unsuccessful until the local crew came in and took over for us.
We arrived back at the build site and were told there was not a lot to do so we decided to all go and get water from the river. When we got to the bottom we filled our bottles and walked over to a nearby suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge and checking out the other side we all got our gear off and went in the river for a swim with the local kids. This was so refreshing and relaxing after everything we have been through the last week and a bit. It also speaks volumes about how close everyone has become to strip down to our undies with one another. The local boys clearly have no fear as they were jumping from a concerning height into thigh deep water. It appears nothing has happened to them to date to slow them down and they loved it.
After this memorable moment we all trekked back up the hill and did some odd jobs for a while. We all got our blue shirts on and had our family portraits taken to give to the home owners. Good news came shortly after - we could go home early. With that a few of us grabbed our bags and pretty much ran up to the bus before they changed their minds!!
We stopped just up the road to play a game of soccer with the local boys, Team WorkCover against the Nepalese kids. Now some people might assume that we are big adults and that these kids are pretty small so we would let the kids get the ball and score. Well, clearly we have some competitive people on our team (all of us) because everyone went hell for leather (as much as we could). Matt definitely is a pro and he enjoyed every moment of it, except maybe the part were he was down in the foetal position and I was kicking at him to get the ball. We thought we were getting a bit fitter doing this build but 10 minutes on the soccer field did us in.
Next stop - Tuborg Inn - we were escorted out to the beer garden today which was a small enclosed area out the back, we had our daily debrief and chat. We decided it was time to go because we were going shopping to buy bedding for the families. Of course a shopping trip does not slow the Tuborgs down. To Jason's despair there was not a cold beer left in the village for his roady, however shortly after his 30 second blitz of every business within the small radius, the Tuborg inn came good and found him an icy cold one.

We travelled into Pokhara city after this to get the bedding, this took a lot of time for some unknown reason, this may have been a Tuborg stop or two!! Anyhoo, we managed to get a very good deal on some mattresses, blankets ad pillows for our families. I am sure they will be loving this.
We had a lovely dinner tonight at a place called Moondance. I am now off to my room to give birth to an ear baby ( the pressure in my ear is unbearable) most of the group is now kicking up their heels at Club Amsterdam aka Tuborg Inn no.8!!
