This is my first attempt at creating a blog, so bear with me as I have no idea what I'm doing. I've got a memory stick with some photo's of the last two day's activities but there's no way I'll be able to upload them as I haven't got the skill and this computer is way too slow anyway, I'll get Dot to do it tomorrow. Yesterday was a great day for us, as we finished the second house and have finished the task we set ourselved. In the morning, Jason and I and Brim our driver went shopping for a door for house B but failed miserably, we should have let some of the women go ! Anyway we collected a sheet of corrugated iron (we were one short for the roof), a hammer, some nails and a couple of door handles and locks and headed back to the build site completely exhausted. We were later to be awarded workers of the day !
When we returned we found that the others had done some more road widening, and had created a veggie patch out of the spoil, they complained but someone had to do the real work. It didn't take long to get the roof up after that and we finished it off by painting the door and windows with brilliant Nepalese red and blue and the houses were finished, I must admit it brought a tear to my eye.
We then recieved a wriiten request for another game of soccer with the local kids but we politely declined on the basis that they'd thrashed us twice already, and we were completely knackered. We gave out beanies at the build site and then again to the kids at Club Tuborg who have so wonderfully entertained us. All of the kids were massively pleased with them, thanks to everyone back home who knitted them.
Later on we went out for a celebration, and shared our experiences of the build. I am very proud of what Team Workcover Nepal has achieved, we did what we came to do, it was extremely hard work carrying water and rocks up a very steep hill, but we did it. This shows yet again to me that WCA is an organisation to be proud of, and I thank all of you who helped in any way to get us here.
PS Jason got DH of the day but I can't remember why.
