The team came up with some fantastic ideas. We ran several chocolate drives which were great, conducted 100 Club games ... were very popular! Held a Charity Golf Day, again very successful and some of the team even participated in a Fun Run Event held at The Entrance, Central Coast in December which raised several thousand dollars. We also ran a few sausage sizzles, but the finale is to be our biggest endeavour - a Dinner Dance to be held on 21st February. All in all ... we're getting closer and closer to our goal, and to our trip. We all agree that fundraising is pretty tough work, but we know that the building we will be undertaking in Nepal, during their warmer months, while emotionally and personally rewarding, will be even harder.

Our Fundraising Efforts
Our Fundraising Efforts
When the volunteers for Team Nepal had our first meeting, we set about deciding on a variety of fundraising activities. The aim has been to raise $1000 each, a total of $12,000, which would help to finance our trip and assist with paying for building products. Becoming a volunteer for any charity group is never a free ride. It involves your time, your energy, your love, empathy and sincerity and of course your money. There's no such thing as a junket when you become a volunteer! Having said that however, I reckon each and every team member would pay every cent to experience the thrill of being part of the Habitat for Humanity team and help to build homes for the children of Nepal. We're on a high and we can't wait! Did I tell you, we're going to an orphanage to build homes there?
